I love Rachelle dearly, and tell her so on a regular basis. She continually amazes and delights me, and I consider myself infinitely blessed and improved by her association.
Despite her many redeeming qualities, however, there is one repeated failing: she can be slow at times to recognize just how amazing and delightsome she is.
A perfect illustration of this is provided for your reference below. This is from a wedding she shot about a week ago, whipping off shots with instinctive ease. While the focus of everyone else was on the bride and groom (standing out of frame off to the right), she had the presence of mind to find the little illustrations of innocence and humanity that lend a wonderful “life is made of the little things” feel to it all (don’t worry, she also got lots of the ceremony as it happened), and thought nothing of doing so. It’s definitely worth clicking on for the larger version.
I am extremely grateful for her talents as a photographer – it lets me see the world through her eyes.

PS – She doesn’t know I hijacked her blog. Shhh!

And now it’s finally Eden’s turn to start school! She was way excited and didn’t even look back. Sad, but at least she wasn’t crying like one of the kids was.

So I had 2 hours to myself today! Every Tuesday and Thursday I’ll get that. So what did I do today!?! I ran errands. I must admit it wasn’t as hectic without kids, but it was also kinda boring. I missed my kids during those 2 hours, but I’m sure I’ll get to the point where I totally enjoy it!

Amanda had her first day of preschool today! Oh so exciting, but so hard to let her go. This is the same preschool I have bragged about before, and I will keep talking about them till my kids are finished with preschool.

Notice the bag!?! I’ll show you what it looked like before I got to it!

Here’s the bag the preschool gave us, and they ask that this be the bag they bring everyday to preschool, it’s big and the top just opens right up for all those large projects they do! I asked if I could alter the bag and Miss Emily said it was fine so long as the top stays open.

I didn’t come up with this idea, no way, no how, I’m not that creative. I got the idea from here! So this is my version. If I remember correctly, she glues her petals on, but I was worried they would fall off with too much handling, so I sewed the petals on.
First I measured about how far apart I wanted the petals and then took a ruler and marked my spots so I would know where to put them. Then I did a ton of forward and back sticking with my machine!

There are approximately 200 petals on this bag (14×16 inches). If you notice, the handles are no longer red, they’re pink! I covered them with ribbon!

All my girls are wanting one now, even me!

This isn’t the first time she’s done this, and it isn’t even the worst one she’s done, but I sure do feel sorry for her when it happens.
The first time something like this happened, we were up camping and it was twice as big. I called up the nurse crying, wondering if I should take her straight to the ER or just go to the clinic. The nurse told me to wait and watch. That even though it looked bad, there was nothing they could do unless something was actually wrong.
While up camping (last year) Amanda ran straight into a thin metal tray sticking out of the BBQ. It was actually pretty comedic to see. She ran in to it with a sudden stop and then feel straight over backwards. We can laugh about it now cause she survived, but it wasn’t funny when it happened.
This time, she was walking out of the bathroom and her foot or something got caught and she fell forward and bonked her head on the door jam.
These pictures don’t do it justice.

Sure she’s smiling now, after tons of hugs and comfort… and ice!

Ashley wanted to take a picture.

It amazes me how resilient kids are! I’m thankful for that or all my kids would probably be dead.

I keep telling myself it gets easier the older they get… but it doesn’t. I made myself have a smile on my face, I’m always worried my emotions will some how make them feel bad or that they won’t feel so sure of themselves if they see me get all teary-eyed.
Ashley was so ready for school to start. She started asking about it in July!
Thankfully my girls all start on different days. I don’t think I could handle it all on one day.
So today, is Ashley’s turn!

Of course now that school is in, I’m starting to do cool hairstyles again! This one is so simple.

One down, 2 more to go. Wish me luck!

Paul figured out a way for me to blog! Things feel so much better in the world now because of it!
Yesterday we took the girls to see Monsters vs. Aliens! Not the 3D one, but they loved it. So that’s where the “Aliens” and “Monsters” part of the title comes in.
As for the dinosaurs part of the title, we took the girls to the dino museum… in July. Yeah, I know, I’m putting things out of order, but oh well… deal with it.
This is just the typical post, not much explanation, but tons of pictures.
ENJOY!

Of course we have pictures of funny faces!

Grrr…

Yes, we have big noses in this picture.

A trip to this museum wouldn’t be complete without the Shark picture!

I’m sorry for the lack of posts. But for some reason my pictures won’t upload onto the site. It was having no problem till Blogger messed with stuff. So for now, I don’t have anything to report till we figure out what’s going on.
Sorry.

We’ve had lots of get-togethers with family. This one was especially fun because of our Uncle and Aunt with their kids visiting from England!
Here’s some of them. From left to right it’s David (who’s diapers I used to change), the lovely Aunt Jana, and Uncle Mike! We sure miss these guys! Hopefully they’ll move back soon!
*hint hint*

Ashley and Eric!

Amanda

Grandma and Grandpa have to be the cutest couple I’ve ever seen!

Hands Up!

Stands Up! (can you believe I can still do a handstand!?!)

The kids decided to play a game of “Red Light Green Light”. Look at those game faces.

Eric was determined to help Amanda win! (she doesn’t look too thrilled does she)

But she got a turn!!!

It was so fun having Uncle Mike and his family back for awhile!
WE MISS YOU!

I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years since we’ve gotten married! Time sure does fly!
As some of you know, Paul and I got engaged just 2 months after we met each other. Since getting married, life has been full of fun, surprises, hard times, great times, laughter, tears, kids and most of all LOVE!

(by the way, Paul has already lost about 20 pounds! he’s inspiring me to lose a few)

(i think i look better with long hair)

Life just keeps getting better and better!
